Belarus prohibits imports of Ukrainian potato following Russia

Belarus is introducing limitations on imports of food potato from Ukraine starting from July 10, informed the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus.

According to the ministry’s statement, the decision was made following the appeal of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhznadzor) and in compliance with the agreement of the Customs Union on quarantine imposed on the plants as well as principles of the International Plant Protection Convention.

At that, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus specified that the Ukrainian potato shipped prior to July 10 is subject to import to the territory of the republic based on the results of quarantine phytosanitary control.
