Akhmetov’s Channel 34 accused Kolomoyskiy’s deputy of blocking broadcasting

Dnipropetrovsk Channel 34 accused Borys Filatov, the Deputy Head of Dnipropetrovsk State Oblast Administration, of blocking broadcasting, reported the Media Group Ukraine holding.

“On Tuesday, October 7, at 3:46 pm the analog signal was temporary switched off (for 17 minutes) and then at 6:25 pm it was permanently cut off. At 06:35 pm the digital signal of Dnipropetrovsk Channel 34 was also switched off. In fact, Channel 34 has completely disappeared from the broadcasting networks,” said the holding.

The channel said that there are no technical problems with the signal transmission; the editorial operates as usual and broadcasts the produced content by radio equipment through the fiber optical channels to Dnipropetrovsk Radio and Television Broadcasting Center where the transmitters are located. The providers also confirm that there are no problems with the channels of the communication.

The holding expresses its official protest against the illegal actions on switching off Dnipropetrovsk Channel 34 and appeals to the legal bodies to restore law. The fact can be considered only as the pressure and encroachment on freedom of speech in Ukraine, according to the holding

As a reminder, Channel 34 is a part of Media Group Ukraine holding which is owned by System Capital Management. System Capital Management is owned by Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov.
