Record number of Ukrainians apply for permission to work in Poland

9995

Over the three quarters of this year Poland registered around 285,000 applications for employment of citizens of Ukraine, which is an absolute record since the introduction of the simplified system of employment in 2007 and which exceeded the indicator of the same period last year by 55%, reported the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of Poland.

Employee of the Ministry Marcin Wiatrow said that the main reason of the growing demand for employment of Ukrainians in Poland is better economic situation in the country, which promotes employment of new people.

“We register the increase of the number of job seekers since mid-2013 (even before Euromaidan), that, among other things, was caused by better economic conditions and improvement of the situation on the labor market,” he noted.

“However most likely the inflow of job seekers would not have been that big if it weren’t for the the events in Ukraine and the deteriorating situation in the country,” added the representative of the ministry.
