The international electronic wallet PayPal has stopped servicing its clients in Crimea, an Interfax correspondent reported, citing a letter from the company.

"This was a very difficult decision for us, but we are unfortunately unable to provide services to our clients in Crimea at this time," the letter, which PayPal sent to its Crimean clients on Thursday night, says.

PayPal is part of the American company eBay. According to PayPal's website, its services are used by around 100 million people in 190 countries. In addition, PayPal works with 25 different currencies.

The international payment systems Visa and MasterCard previously stopped offering its services in Crimea.
