Romanian authorities demand suspension of LUKOIL operation

The authorities of Romania ordered to suspend operation of Petrotel Lukoil Refinery owned by the Russian oil company LUKOIL on the territory of the country, announced the Ambassador of Romania to Russia.

The decision was approved following the inspection conducted by the law enforcement bodies on October 2 in the offices of the companies of the LUKOIL group on the territory of Petrotel Lukoil Refinery in Ploiesti.

At that, the accusations were not brought against the companies of the group and the employees, said the press service.

As a reminder, earlier the investigations were conducted in 23 offices of the Romanian companies owned by LUKOIL. The searches were made as a part of the investigation of the criminal case of tax evasion and money laundering, as a result of which Romania has suffered losses in the amount of EUR 230 mn, according to the mass media.
