ManeuversPopulation census started today in Crimea
On October 14, population census has begun in Crimea annexed by Russia, reported Crimea Inform. It is expected that it will last until October 25. The citizens of Crimea can answer the questions at home or at special census stations.
Overall, there are 33 questions. Thus, they must specify the place of their residence, marital status, ethnicity and income level in the questionnaire. In addition, the census takers specify the places where they live when filling out the questionnaires.
The special questionnaire in which people can specify the purpose of visit and length of stay is provided for those who temporarily live in Crimea.
At that, the census takers decide whether to answer the asked questions or not.
As a reminder, the last official census was carried out in Crimea in 2001. According to the results, 2.34 mn people lived on the peninsula. As of June 2014, the permanent population of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea amounted to 1.96 mn people, according to the Crimean Statistics Service.
