Moldova and Russia signed an agreement on supplies of natural gas at US $331.8 per 1,000 cu m in 2015, while its average price amounted to US $378 in 2014.
As it was reported, the agreements on the extension of the contract on gas supplies to Moldova for one year and transit of gas through the republic were signed on Tuesday by Deputy Chairman of Gazprom Alexander Medvedev and Chairman of Moldovagaz Alexandru Gusev.
Vice Premier, Minister of Economy Andrian Candu said at the signing ceremony that “the contract is a result of many efforts which were successful for Moldova”.
“The contract will come into force on January 1. This means that we were able to ensure stability of supply of energy resources and also energy security of the country. This is especially relevant under the current conditions of the regional situation. The current price is an achievement and we will be very categorical in the conversation with the representatives of the National Energy Regulatory Agency to make the consumers feel the price decrease in their pockets,” he noted.
