Poroshenko sure Ukraine won’t need Russian gas in two years

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that he is sure that Ukraine will not require Russian gas within two years.

"I am absolutely sure that in two years we will need no Russian gas at all," Poroshenko said, speaking at the Europe Institute at the University of Zurich on Monday.

According to the president, Ukraine has is taking the necessary measures to strengthen its energy security, therefore, gas flow from other European countries has already begun. European and US investors have been invited to participate in modernizing the gas system.

The president went on to say that measures to improve energy efficiency have also been taken.
