Ukraine threatens to completely cut power supplies to Crimea, if the Crimean consumers do not observe the fixed limits, said the press service of the State Foreign Trade Company Ukrinterenergo.
Starting from today the company will limit the volumes of power flows from the energy system of Ukraine to Crimea upon the request of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy, according to the press service.
“The capacity will reach 300 MWatt at peak load from 8 am to 10 am (Kyiv time) and from 6 pm to 10 pm, around 500 MW in the afternoon, around 600 MW from 11 pm to 6 am, reads the message.
This is connected with the shortage of fuel and power generation in Ukraine due to the conflict in Donbas which leads not only to misbalance between power generation and energy consumption but to the possible blackouts at peak loads, according to director of Ukrinterenergo Volodymyr Zinevych.
