On July 7 an armed group of representatives of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic seized the central office of PrivatBank in Luhansk, reported the press service of PrivatBank.

On July 7, at 2:00 pm the armed activists of the LPR seized the central department of the bank and captured its employees. They seized equipment and bank property, and took the employees hostage.

Despite the seizure, the bank continues to service its private and corporate clients on the territory of the Luhansk oblast via online, PrivatBank reported.

“The statements of the terrorists of the LPR, published in a number of mass media about PrivatBank, allegedly stopping its operations in the oblast are false; the bank serves its clients, independent from its departments, centrally in all of Ukraine,” the press service reported.

The clients can pay with their cards in the stores, perform non-cash operations in self-service terminals at any point of the oblast and generally in Ukraine without any limitations, according to the report. Interest on deposits is charged as usual and it is possible to manage your deposits with Pryvat24.

As Capital reported, on July 7, PrivatBank reported about the renewal of the operation of its departments in Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Artemivsk and Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk oblast.
