The Cabinet of Ministers intends to announce a tender for the issuing of one license for 3G communication instead of three as planned earlier, said market news sources, according to Capital.

Yesterday, on September 1, the government held a meeting on the issuing of a license for the 3G communication, according to the sources. At the meeting Cabinet Minister Ostap Semerak proposed introducing changes to the draft decree No. 933 on Tender Preparation.

The new decree requires holding a tender for one 3G license (30 MHz throughout Ukraine) without conversion. The starting price of the tender is UAH 1 bn (US $80 mn), the entrance fee for participation costs the same. The next tenders are expected to be held in three years.

As a reminder, earlier it was expected three tenders for three licenses within the range of 90 megahertz in total.

The law enforcers should start the conversion within the range of UAH 1.6 bn (US $120 mn) at the expense to the funds of the operators, according to the previous decree. Yesterday the servicemen opposed the fact that they will not receive funds for modernization.

As Capital reported, the Presidential Administration continues to support the issuance of three licenses for 3G communication.
