Over the year the number of Ukrainian tourists in Georgia increased by 30%

The number of Ukrainian tourists, who visited Georgia in January-May 2014, has increased by 27% compared with the same period of 2013 or to 48,800 people, Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine Mikheil Ukleba reported.

«Ukraine is the fifth among Top 10 countries, whose citizens visit Georgia regularly, and the first among the countries that have no borders with Georgia,» he said.

Ukleba noted that in general the tourist flow to Georgia increased 22% in 2013 compared with 2012 to 5.392 mn of tourists, which exceeds the country’s population.

In his turn, the Head of the National Tourism Administration of Georgia Giorgi Sigua assured that «Ukrainians will feel at home in Georgia».

«If you walk the main streets in Tbilisi, you will see many flags hanging out of the windows and Ukrainian symbols, which emphasize support of the Georgian citizens for Ukraine and Ukrainian people,» said Sigua.
