Early election campaign to the Verkhovna Rada has started in Ukraine according to its schedule, informed the press service of the Central Election Commission.
The elections will be held on October 26, 2014. The Ukrainian president’s Decree No. 690/2014 - VII on early termination of powers of the VR was published and early elections were called.
According to the Law on Legal Status of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, the elections in Crimea and Sevastopol will not be held. Considering the fact, that there are 12 majoritarian districts on these territories, only 438 of 450 MPs will be elected in October.
The list of first-past-the-post electoral districts with their numbers, boundaries and centers will be published by August 29.
At that, CEC is obliged to transfer funds for the preparation and holding of elections.
The political parties will nominate their MPs for election from August 28 to September 15, and self-nominated candidates can register from August 28 to September 25.
