oilUkraine will purchase oil from Azerbaijan
Ukraine and Azerbaijan are discussing a possibility of supply of Azeri oil to the Ukrainian oil refineries, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan said at a briefing in Baku as the ministry’s press service reported.
In the future Ukraine intends to maintain partnership relations with Azerbaijan in energy sector, said Prodan. The minister noted that the meeting with Head of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Natik Aliyev was planned. The sides will discuss the issues of oil supply from Azerbaijan to Ukraine. In addition, they will talk about the implementation of other joint projects.
The price of oil fell below US $100 for the first time over 14 months. Azerbaijan is studying the variants of oil supply to the Ukrainian refineries, according to Yuriy Prodan. The Minister specified that oil supply from Azerbaijan is a “short term issue”.
