Kyiv Boryspil Airport has been certified to send dangerous cargoes to the European Union, reported the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

“Boryspil airport has been successfully validated for aviation security of the EU involving independent inspectors of the responsible authorities from Austria, Poland and Latvia. The certification confirmed the correspondence of the main air gate of Ukraine with the norms of the European aviation security, which allows transportation of dangerous cargoes to the EU countries,” said the press service.
Boryspil became the first airport of Ukraine to obtain this right, according to the ministry.

In particular, as a result of the inspection, the airport was certificated as the Regulated Agent 3, which means the third country certificated by the level of the aviation security of EU.

Thus, Boryspil is now able to ensure increased security control of cargoes and postal operations, noted the press service. In addition, the airport gained the right to determine the threat level, control cargo dispatch to the EU countries immediately before loading to the airplane or transmission to the air carrier or other RA3 agent.
