Deficit of balance of payments decreased in 855 times to US $5 mn

The deficit of free balance of payments of Ukraine decreased to US $5 mn in Q2 the current year compared with US $4.3 bn in Q1, reported the National Bank.

Noteworthy, the deficit of the current account was lowest since 2011 (US $1.1 bn), as a result of the devaluation of the national currency and decrease of the domestic demand.

At that, the balance of the financial and capital accounts (US $1.1 bn) became positive thanks to the attraction of the public sector and reduction of the volumes of cash currency outside the banks.

As a result of hryvnia devaluation and decrease of the economic activity, the rates of import decrease greatly exceeded the rates of export decrease.

In consequence if this, the deficit of the account of current transactions decreased to US $1.1 bn (to US $2.3 bn in Q2 2013).
