The National Bank of Ukraine decided to extend validity of the currency restrictions envisaged by the central bank’s decree No. 540 for another three months, reported financial information source.

The bankers were warned of the corresponding decisions at a meeting of NBU on Monday, specified the source.

“The decree No. 540, which will expire tomorrow and which restricted the number of transactions on the foreign exchange market, was extended with all restrictions for another three months. Issuing of the registered certificates of deposit was allowed for a period of six months or more for the purpose of the attraction of people’s currency savings to the banks, according to the decree,” noted the source.
