Kyiv Pechersk District Court refused to unlock UAH 20 mn (US $1.24 mn) on the accounts of former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in state-owned Oschadbank, which is one of the largest banks, announced Prosecutor General Vitaliy Yarema at a press conference.

“Last Friday the lawyers of Viktor Yanukovych tried to withdraw UAH 20 mn from his account in Oschadbank. They tried to lift the arrest of the funds and take them outside Ukraine,” he said.

The Prosecutor General’s Office has been warned in time and the court, at its request, rejected the corresponding petition of the lawyers of Yanukovych, according to Yarema.
