The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution on creation of a joint stock railway transport company on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, informed Oleksandr Kava, coordinator of the transport sector reform at the Coordination Center for Implementation of Economic Reforms.
“This landmark decision for the Ukrainian railway transport provides a possibility to move to real actions and start division of the regulatory and management functions of the public railway transport in the process of reforming UkrZaliznytsya,” he said.
As a reminder, the Law On Peculiarities of Creation of the State-owned Joint Stock Public Railway Transport Company signed by the president on March 15, 2012 created the required legislative basis for the railway system reform.
As Capital reported earlier, the Cabinet is starting the process of corporatization of UkrZaliznytsya.
