In July 2014 inflation in Ukraine slowed down to 0.4% from 1% in June and 3.8% in May due to the cheapening of vegetables, said the State Statistics Service. The SSS specified that consumer prices have increased by 12% since the beginning of the current year.

At an annual rate (with regard to the same month the previous year), as of June inflation accelerated to 12.6% from 12%, as of May – to 10.9%, as of April – to 6.9%.

As a reminder, consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 0.5% in 2013, while the previous year – by 0.2%.

The national budget in 2014 is based on 14% inflation; however the government has already worsened the forecast of this indicator for the current year to 19%.
