Russia reported 300,000 Ukrainian citizens in Crimea

As of the mid-August 2014, there are around 300,000 citizens of Ukraine in Crimea, informed the Federal Migration Service of Russia, according to the press service of so-called Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communication of Crimea.

Moreover, the number of the Ukrainian citizens in Crimea is increasing due to the forced immigrants moving from Donbas, said the press service.

“At that, around 20,000 people are arriving per day. A large number of people moving to Crimea are the residents of Eastern Ukraine,” informed the service.

In the end of August 2014, around 18,000 citizens of Ukraine consulted the lawyers about temporary accommodation, according to FMS of Russia.

Overall, from April 25, 2014 to August 19, 2014 1.07 mn foreign nationals arrived in Crimea, 760,863 left the republic, said FMS.
