Head of the State Council of Crimea unrecognized by Kyiv Vladimir Konstantinov said that it is necessary to bring the case of renewing water supply to the peninsula from mainland Ukraine through the North Crimean Canal to the international level and file claims against the Ukrainian side.

“We need the water initiative at the international level. We will join all party institutes, claims to the Ukrainian government on their relation to the North Crimean Canal and water,” he said at the session of the Crimean government.

The policy of the Ukrainian authorities is “water-plague”, according to Konstantinov.

As Capital reported, on April 26, Ukraine closed the North Crimean Canal's locks, through which water was supplied from Dnipro.

Noteworthy, Ukraine provided up to 85% of all Crimean needs in fresh water through this canal. In particular, water was used for the agricultural needs.
