Former Head of Naftogaz suspected of embezzlement of state property became a member of parliament

Former Head of Naftogaz of Ukraine Yevhen Bakulin against whom the criminal proceeding was opened has won the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in single-member constituency No. 106 (Severodonetsk in Luhansk oblast), according to the results of processing 100% of protocols in the constituency, as the Central Election Commission reported.

Bakulin won 43.01% or 11,222 votes, according to the CEC.

As a reminder, on March 6, the Ministry of Internal Affairs opened the criminal proceeding against the officials of Naftogaz of Ukraine, in particular, Yevhen Bakulin and GazUkraina-Commerce for the embezzlement of state property in the amount of over UAH 1.4 bn (US $111 mn).
