The Polish Senate on Thursday afternoon ratified the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, according to the official Twitter page of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

"The Senate of the Republic of Poland, in the presence of the Ukrainian delegation, has just ratified the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. 100% - FOR. I thank Poland for support!" Poroshenko said, Interafax-Ukraine reported.

Earlier, the ratification of the document was reported by the deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Valeriy Chaly, who flew out to Poland on December 3 to prepare for the president's state visit to this country, which is scheduled for mid-December.

As reported, on November 28, the Polish Sejm ratified the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.

On December 2, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that in general the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement had already been ratified by nine EU countries, in particular, Sweden, Hungary, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Malta, Slovakia and Estonia.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis expressed hope that the remaining EU member states would ratify the document before the Eastern Partnership summit to be held in Riga in May.
