Gebr. Heinemann plans to invest EUR 10 mln in duty free shops at Boryspil airport

Germany's Gebruder Heinemann, through its partner BF & GH Travel Retail, intends to invest EUR 10 million to develop duty free shops at Boryspil International Airport within two or three years, the Director General of BF & GH Travel Retail Oleksandr Shevchenko has told reporters.

In turn, Gebr.Heinemann Board Member Claus Heinemann said that the company has invested some EUR 10 million into duty free shops at Boryspil airport.

At present, Gebr.Heinemann's seven duty free shops, covering 3,000 square meters of retail space, are located in Terminal D at Boryspil airport.

There are also plans to open two new Gebr.Heinemann duty free shops at the airport in the near future.

As previously reported, BF & GH Travel Retail won a tender in June 2014 to lease retail space in Terminal D, which was held by the State Property Fund of Ukraine. The company was to place eight shops within 2,111 square meters of retail space.

In September 2014, the company won a second tender to lease space of 640.5 square meters on the second floor of Terminal D.
